Decorating Sister Ika's door for her bday!!

Family,

It seems I never have a lot of time to write this letter but that means you all emailed and I was busy reading emails and looking at pictures of the lake...so that's a good thing!

Well let's see here...today is Sisters conference...by that I mean they are discussing transfer calls. This transfer ends next week which is really weird. They go by really quickly now. It would be nice to stay in 2nd ward in Independence because we have three people scheduled to be baptized in September.

One day we were teaching Joan(recent convert) her new member lessons and she says, "Honey I want you to meet my new neighbor Linda downstairs, she's Mormon and wants to come to church!" I thought...I bet she's part of a break off and sure enough she was. She grew up in the Stone Church which is part of Community of Christ but anyways since than she has come and taken a church tour, come to service, and a relief society activity. She really has the kindest heart and I love her a lot. Her date is Sept 18th. I think I already told you all about Reuban and Piu as well.

Remember that story about the family we took through the VC and the presentation "God's Plan for His Family" and the 3 year old said she loved Jesus and started to cry? Well here is a picture of the "Key" family. We are working with them and trying to help them become active members again.

The VC is slowing down quite a bit as people head back to school but that's ok. I've taken so many awesome families this summer and it's been a lot of fun. Last Sunday I had the privelege of taking the best tour I have ever taken...everything I read that morning was for this woman that came in and we connected more than I can explain. She has been meeting with missionaries since May, dating a member who has a daughter that just got back from a mission and I know she will get baptized. Her life was changed because of her experience at the VC. I love the VC.

This morning I hear a knock on the door at like 6:28 and I thought it was Sister Ika so I didn't answer hahaha. I thought "no way, I have 2 more minutes to sleep!" and then I hear a knock again after I was up and I was thinking..what if it's some creeper..Independence is full of those...so I just barely open the door and it's SISTER BURTON!! She finished her mission 5 weeks ago and is on her way to Rexburg for school from Virginia(home) It was so exciting to see her! So here is a pic of all of us this morning still waking up haha.

If I don't email next week, it's because I was transferred.

Love,

Sister Powell
