This past week Sister Stevens and I had a great week! We have been car-less since Friday but that's okay. Friday POURED. By the time we got home my skirt and feet were soaked! It was still a good day though. Luckily that night when we went out after dinner it had stopped raining.
Saturday was awesome! Sheila and Amber were both baptized. All week we had prayed that it would be a spiritual baptism and that the two of them would feel cleansed of their sins..and it was the most spiritual baptism I have ever been to. As soon as Sheila stood in that water, the Spirit filled the room. Very few people had dry eyes. Amber had to be baptized twice because the first time her elbow came up, it was cute. I told her it was okay, that my foot came up when I was baptized, so I had to do it again. Sister Browning and Fakai came because they both had the opportunity to teach Sheila. The four of us sang a version of, "I know that my Redeemer Lives"...I can't even describe the feeling in the room as we sang that song so powerfully.
Last night we went with Sheila to Presidents Fireside where recent converts share their testimonies (one man was from Jerusalem and shared how be now believes in Christ as the Savior, it was sooo awesome) but when we walked in Sheila introduced herself to everyone and President Van Komen like this, "Hi I'm Sheila! I got baptized yesterday!" It was so hilarious.
The work here is going very well and Sister Stevens and I laugh too much, if that's possible in life.
Love,
Sister Powell
