Dear Family,
We had a fun New Years Eve with Dorian at her Mom's. Dorian is in her early 30s and her Mom is in the ward too. We ate too much food and laughed our heads off playing uno and mexican train.
At church yesterday there was a total of 28 BUT a new family moved in! MIRACLE. As time went on more showed up..some people live quite a ways out there in those tiny towns and it was icy.
Tomorrow we find out what will happen with transfers. Thursday is the actual transfer day. Sister Hafen is convinced she is leaving because she told President Van Komen she wants her last transfer of her mission to be at the Visitors' Center. We'll see. We all know how I do it....I show up get to know everyone and then bam I'm gone.
So we bought nerf guns a couple weeks ago and we relate them to anything we can in the Book of Mormon. "Samuel the Lamanite" is a good story and then we shoot those were teaching with them and also "Firey darts of the adversary" and people hold there scriptures up to block our darts.
Those we are teaching are doing well. We were on exchanges, so I was in Hays, KS but when Sister Hafen was over at Debbies she asked how she's been doing reading the Book of Mormon and Debbie was like, "Oh I'm in Alma 5" WHAT?! In like 1 week she's read half of it. By the way no one took my challenge or let me know that you are doing it with Kayla and I. You take a clean blank new copy of the Book of Mormon, 4 colors and mark those things. 9 pages a day and you read it in 60 days. Who is doing it with us? It's seriously such an amazing experience. By the end you just feel so close to Heavenly Father and Christ.
On Saturday we decided to go out to some of the small small towns and we went and visited Stan and Nadine. These two are hilarious..they are in there 70s, they visited Temple Square and they LOVED it so they ordered a Book of Mormon. Well in Sept. the Sisters went and saw them and were so excited because Stan and Nadine agreed with everything and loved our beliefs...but they have been going to their small little church for 70 years and it's failing due to money and lack of people. They said in a year they will probably come to our church so for now they asked for copies of the Book of Mormon and pamphlets. When we visited Saturday they said they had handed a few out...seriously? They're awesome.
I think I'll stay here another transfer but I never know...so I'll let you all know next week! I forgot my camera..sorry!
