¿Que Tal¿

So its sounding kinda cold back home that kinda stinks, but I hope everyone is doing good and having fun being out of school. Thanks for all the emails this week I love hearing what you guys are all up to, and pictures are so sweet. This week was good I can’t believe this transfer is already over, its flown by. You guys were asking about the companions I have had. Well, my first companion Elder Lombardo was super fun, he hated to talk in English so we never really talked that much, it was kinda awkward at times, but by my second transfer my Spanish was a lot better so we talked alot more and we had alot of fun. I really liked teaching with him cause the lessons were always very serious and spiritual. It was fun to really just work by the spirit. Elder Lombardo liked to do triathlons, bike, swim and run and so we were pretty atheltic. My comp right now Elder Olsen is from the US. We have a lot more things in common. I don’t know how to explain it really but, it’s just easier to talk and relate to people from the US. He’s 6´ 4 so all the Paraguayans are always saying stuff about him being so tall. It’s auctally been really cool being with him cause he just lets me take the wheel basically. I do all of the small chat and verifying doubts and questions and the majority of the stuff in the lessons which I have really liked. It has helped me learn so much more Spanish and how to teach to the needs and not just give out pamphlets. I really have enjoyed both of my companions, they have both been great! I really haven’t had any problems with either of them so I have been lucky so far.

We have transfers next Wednesday so we will see if I stay here with Olsen for another change or whats going to happen. I think I am going to stay here in CaaCupe for another transfer. Next Monday is President Wade’s last p-day pretty crazy! Then President Madariaga will be running the show. But as far as the work goes things are going good. Yesterday was a bit disappointing, we were really pushing for 9-4-1 which means 9 investigators go to church, a total 4 that could be Melchizedic priesthood holders and 1 family but, instead we ended up with 2-1-0 people, 1 man and 0 families so kind of a let down, but life goes on. There’s always this coming Sunday. We have a member named Hermana Rosa, this is the house where Elder Lombardo threw the meat to the chickens if you guys remember that story. She has been at the hospital for the past month with her daughter who has some problems. Her daughter is 13 and weighs maybe 50lbs and is about the size of a 4 year old. It’s super sad to see every time I go over there. I am just so grateful to have a healthy working body. She went to the hospital for a month and now has a tube inserted the middle of her chest feeds her. Hermana Rosa feeds her through this tube. Yesterday when we were over visiting her after church the tube got a little loose and started leaking out the sides of the hole. I’ll tell ya what, I have seen elk guts and all the important bloody body parts but to see that just made me sick to know that this little girl is living like this and her guts are open to flies and dirt and all sorts of bacteria it’s really sad. You see things here you would never see in the States.

But things are going good. Our branch mission leader is awesome, he is super excited to share the message with everyone. For example at our last baptism he walked 30 minutes to come, then after the baptism I told him thanks for coming and I told him the next baptism is his. He´ll do the baptizing. And he got super excited about that. We are teaching one of his neighbors and the first night there we got to know them a little and introduced the Book of Mormon and left one with them. Then on Saturday our 2nd time at their house I started the lesson and said, “Hmo. Lugo what do you like most about the church?” The branch mission leader answered and said, ‘My baptism, then bore his testimony about baptism. I thought, ok we´ll go with that and we kept teaching about baptism with Hmo. Lugo leading the way. We then we set a fecha (date for baptism) that night it was so sweet and really funny, the guy is awesome!

So this week I went on a division (splits) in Piribebuy and I got some sweet pictures

1) This first one is of Hmo. Lugo our mission leader on the left and our district president Velusquez ( in the suit). Both are super great guys and really hard workers I love them both they are awesome.

2) Next my companion and I yesterday before church waiting for the bus to pass by, to hop on to go to church.

3) Ok so this one is of me on (splits) the division. There were tons of waterfalls, though they are nothing compared to Silver Falls but still way cool ( Oh and by the way -- yes I was being safe - ha ha )

4) More of the Water Falls

5) This one is me doing an imitation of “The Lion King” looking out over the ‘pride land’

6) Water Falls in our area

7) Another one of those ‘Toy Story” dolls at Hmo Lugos house!

8) It way cooler to watch TV in trees here…not exactly sure how they got there.

I love you guys and I love all your love and support. I know that the Book of Mormon is way powerful, I love reading every day. I can’t believe I never read much before my mission but the Book of Mormon is way good, it is the easiest way to feel the spirit in your day, just read the Book of Mormon. Have a great week everybody

Love,

Elder Morgan
