11 Months and a Happy Thanksgiving

Hey guys I am once again sitting in the cyber cafe, sweating while you guys enjoy the cold back home. I’m glad that you are doing so well and that the cold doesn’t keep you from going and doing. As for my week I have a couple cool stories for you guys. Number One is this that this past week we had Zone Conference with an area Seventy, President Foster. During this conference President Foster shared a scripture in Jeremiah 16:16 about hunters and fishers. Well, at the end of the scripture he asked all the hunters to stand up I proudly stepped up and he was like ok now for the fishers and I proudly stood up again. This time I looked around to find my self the only one standing. I figured, well at least President Foster knows who the real country boys are. Then he continued on talking. Then we had our lunch break and during the lunch break I was grabbing my sandwich and I turned around and he was like Hi Elder, where are you from, I was a little taken back at first and I was like, Oregon, then he had me come over to the table where him and President Madariaga and there wives were sitting and he’s like, so where do you go fishing, I let him hear a tuna story or two and then told him all the fish we catch ;) then about how I’ve caught a 6 by 7 bull and that you guys were nockin down this year too and he just had a big grin on his face. So did Pres Madariaga I think he was lost in what we were talking about but I’m sure he was just thinking just keep going Elder Morgan he’s liking this. Then he was like yeah we live in Rigby Idaho and he asked me if I knew it and I said that I think that I’d passed through there with my girlfriend on the way to school then President Madariaga chipped in and said, yes, and she is now serving in Missouri and then his President Foster’s wife was like really and I was like yeah. Then he was like, that is great we need more people like that serving! Thanks Elder Morgan we’ll see ya around. I was like wow that was pretty cool! And then I talked to President Madariaga today, boy was he happy with me. So I learned Something very important at that conference if you want to get in with the area Seventy and the mission president, sit down and tell some fishing stories and they’ll just love ya ha ha.

Ok so for the spiritual side of the week President Foster really focussed on how this new ward plan is what the Lord wants us to do and how this is our new goal. I don’t know if it is only for down here in South America, but I’m pretty sure it is for everywhere. Now we are focusing on really establishing the church here, no more inactive Bishops, women passing the sacrament, or 6 year old baptisms, and all the other stuff that goes. I think this is really going to take the church here in Paraguay to the next level and I am pretty excited about it. I am very excited to work in training the Branch Leaders how things need to be working and being able to focus more of my time on that.

This Saturday we should be having a baptism for Raquel and Sergio, hopefully everything goes as planned. I’ll let you guys know, but I really am hoping that nothing happens here, like things seem to. I am having faith that things will work out. Anyway other than that the work is going well here we have great people to teach and I love this work and being able to help others slow down and really realize what is most important in life. At this Thanksgiving time I’m am so thankful for all my wonderful family, all of you and all the many blessings that the Lord has blessed me with. I am thankful for my testimony and the gospel of Jesus Christ it truly is amazing to me.

I love you guys and hope you have a great Thanksgiving.
