Baby Morgan

I literally just blogged about our wedding yesterday...and now here it goes!

As you all know now,  John and I are very good at keeping exciting news to ourselves...yeah right. I couldn't even wait 12 weeks to share the news that we are having a baby! My due date is
January 23rd...so I still have time to do some wake-boarding, right?  We'll see.

For about a week  I kept telling John that I thought I was pregnant, even though he now admits he thought so too, at the time he kept saying I wasn't.

One day I dropped him off at school, and went to the store and bought a couple pregnancy tests. Sure enough it said, "pregnant". I'm a dork and didn't realize that the result couldn't be false negative, so at first I was like, "What!? No no no that's not right". Then I proceeded to pace around our apartment laughing. Not only was I really surprised, but I was excited too. So then I did another test just to make sure and obviously it said pregnant again.

I called John and asked him what time he wanted me to pick him up from school, he said it would be another 30 minutes. I started making dinner...then decided to tell him in a fun way.  I took our dating album that has photos all the way up to our engagements and put a sticky note on the very back page that said, "Do you think we are having a boy or a girl first?"
I hid our usb recorder that he used when he proposed to me and pregnancy sticks (with the caps on people) behind our couch throw pillows.

I went and picked him up, and continued to laugh. He knew something was up and right when we got home he went straight to our bedroom to see if I had put a pregnancy test on his nightstand.

Then we sat and looked through the photo album together (oh my gosh that thing is way longer than I remember) and I was flipping the pages pretty quickly. :)

At the end, he read the sticky note, looked at me, asked if I was pregnant, and then we both laughed and laughed. The weeks ahead we would just turn to each other and go, "remember how we are having a baby!?"

Our first appointment was awesome! We had a great time seeing the heartbeat and the little stubby arms. He/she really does look like a gummy bear.

I was really nauseous weeks 5-8, but this week I haven't thrown up...at least I don't remember (cross my fingers) and my sister told me to get unisom which has really helped a lot. I think now I'm finally getting the hang out just snacking on like almonds and not letting myself get hungry, so that's helped a lot too. My sister said that its a good sign if you get sick because it means your body is changing, and you are more likely to keep the baby. I mean obviously some lucky women never get sick and delivery a healthy baby, but I guess I will count it as a blessing I've been sick.

If I can just brag for a minute, I have to say I married such an amazing man. He brings me breakfast in bed every single morning and packs me snacks for school during the week. During the past 2 months he has cleaned, done the laundry, and cooked the majority of dinners because I'm the sickest at night. I am so so grateful for John and he will be an incredible Dad. Happy late Fathers Day to my husband!!

By the way, we both think we are having a boy, but if it's a girl it makes no difference. We're happy either way. We'll know at the end of August or early Sept.

And still so shocked that I took another picture the next day.
