A Memorable Week

Well this week has been a memorable one, mainly to the fact because I knew that Cathryn was going home and then that Cathryn was home and that you all were at home with the parties and what not it was a rough week but I decided to just go with the flow. I spent time being “trunky” ha-ha I decided that it was all part of the mission that being “trunky” was ok for a little bit but over all it was a great week. The cold sure did come like a punch to the face. Today was the first sunny day we had all week. Today I went back to Bella Vista to visit Edu and the Miranda’s and the Miranda’s made me a big lunch and then me and their little son (the Riley aged one) went and played tennis. We went and hit the ball back and forth and then Edu and some other missionaries came over then we played soccer and they kept playing soccer and me and Cesar played a match, he beat me. :) He actually is really good though, but anyways I got sun burned today on the tennis court. But when the Miranda’s came to pick us up we went back to their house and I found little chocolates in my shoes and that Sister Ada had washed and ironed my dirty white shirt I was using. It was very nice of them. Anyways I have a cool story or 2 actually 3 for this week…

1) This lady comes up to us in the street, asks us if we can go to her house, and we say “yeah, where is it?” She points and tells us where. We go back another day and begin teaching. She asks us if she can really be forgiven of sin, we tell her she can, through faith, repentance, and baptism. She starts crying and tells us that she feels so bad for all the bad things that she has done in her life and that all she wants is to feel free from that guilt and pain. We went on to reassure her that she could through the atonement and later on in the first visit we invited her to be baptized next month.

2) The Conrad family is Baptist. They fight with their pastor, get upset, and then two days later, we clap their house and they let us in. From the first visit they told us that they have been faithfully been going to the Baptist church, trying to feel how they feel when we are there. We come back and teach the restoration, they love it. They said that they have been looking for a message like this their entire lives. A family of 9 people.

3) Since I can remember my grandma Peggy has always had the heaviest church bags I have ever seen. I remember helping Grandma pack those bags and I remember Gramps packing them, etc. Well every Sunday I would pack Sister Miranda’s bags to her truck, they weren't as heavy as Grandmas but it was a little act of service that I did just because it made me think of Grandma. Well Sister Ada told me today that on Sunday she was standing there after church with all her bags and she said that she remembered all those Sundays that I packed her bags to her truck and that that meant so much to her. I didn’t even think twice about it. It was just something I did, but now I realize how much that little act of service meant. She told me that she will never forget it.

This week was a very memorable one, with Cathryn going home and the new area and all the miracle investigators that plopped into our path. I know that it is on behalf of your many prayers, that we are starting to see success. I love you guys I look forward to the day when we are all again together. I love you guys so much. You’re a wonderful family, I couldn’t ask for anything more. You’re the best. Have a great week.

Love, Elder Morgan
