Well today we went fishing again and I guess I wasn’t humble enough last week about our last fishing expedition, because we didn’t catch anything. No one did so I think it was because we tried a new spot. It was funny my companion, Elder DeVoe from Boston thought that buying a legit pole, with a reel would help him. Well it turned out I spent most of my day tying new hooks on his pole cause he got snagged about every 5 minutes ha ha it was kinda funny even though he was pretty upset. So that was p-day today.
Now as for our week, our week went like this… lots of service I am trying to take the Ammon approach in this area because the people here were left a bad impression by the last Elders. So some are kinda like, ‘hum the Elders are here again, what are they going to do now?’ Well I figure if we serve them we will win their hearts and be able to work with them, so we did service almost every day which was great I have become a pro with the machete and now have great callused hands. It’s nice I feel like a man again, but we were also planning to go out with some of the high priests, but it turns out they love to coordinate more than they do go out and actually visiting the people they are coordinating for. Its super funny I try really hard not to laugh while they are coordinating. They are always like, "Elder come and sit down let us coordinate what we are going to do." Then I’m like , "Well we did that the other night. We have all the plans made lets go!" And they are like, "No lets coordinate." In the end we end up making one visit -- lots of coordinating and not so much doing, but hey they are helping and it’s always good for a laugh to get the 2 of them together shooting ideas around.
We are teaching one kid who’s 20 and a great reference from a family in the ward he is a rugby player and I’m talking to him the other day and he lives like a block away from a private tennis club so I’m like do you play tennis and he is like no I play rugby look at my nose yupp it had a solid 45 degree angle in the wrong direction his fingers are all messed up and his shoulders look like you could have dinner for two on them. I’m worried he’s only listening to what I have to say cause I look like ill be dinner ha ha --we are going to watch his game on Saturday but he is way cool and loved church on Sunday. Anyways my new area is great way way different from my last two areas. Harder in a lot of ways but I love it, it’s great.
I know this church is true. Earlier I was telling Cathryn in an email how I am so grateful for our prophets, seers and revelators what a great blessing they are in guiding us in a world full of all sorts missionary lead ideas and paths we have a firm path well lit and available to all who truly seek it. Our heavenly father has provided us with the means to know all things both spiritually and physically to those to honestly seek. I know that if we truly seek him now he will make himself manifest unto us and that one day as we continue to seek him we will end up in his presence and be able to enjoy the grand glory of god and we will be heirs of his kingdom. I love this gospel. I love this calling that we have to preach his gospel to the world to be fishers of men. It truly is a great blessing that I am already so so grateful for in my life. Have a great week-I love you guys
