Paraguay 4/19/10

So this week went by super fast I can’t believe this is the last full week in April! So things are going really well here. We have solid investigators who are progressing very well and have been to church but just have the challenges of life holding them back. For example Marta was going to get baptized yesterday and had her interview then her Grandma said that she was going to kick her out of the house if she got baptized. So now we think Marta is going to move in with a member and get baptized this Sunday. Sofia and her family drastically changed this week. We went to their house on Friday night and followed up on the reading and praying questions. Then we shared a scripture with her about faith, I am pretty sure it was Ether 12:6 where it says that faith will help us through any challenge in this life and that our blessings come after the challenge of our faith. We both testified of the reality of this. then it was silent and she asked, ‘Why did you share that with me?’ she sounded kind of annoyed and we told her we are just trying to support you and help your family. She told us that her and her husband decided to split up and that this was a really hard challenge for her. Sharing that scripture was just another testimony to me that this is totally the Lords work and that all we do is follow His promptings to help His children. Also, another spiritual experience was with the family Valle, they are really good and have had all the lessons and are super solid, but the one time they went to church they heard members making jokes that they didn’t like. We decided to back off on them for the past couple weeks, and then Wednesday night we were sharing a scripture with them. I felt prompted by the spirit to ask them the real reason why they aren’t going to church. So I did just that, and said, “Ramon, what is the real reason you don’t want to go to church?” He was taken back and thought about it and then shared a doubt he had about the restoration, which we were able to answer. It’s really cool being able to have the spirit with us at all times to help us in this work. Again, I know that this is the Lord’s work and I know that he leads and guides us to help Him build His kingdom. I am so greatful for the spirit and personal revelation. This was a very spiritual week and I know that this next week coming up holds alot of miracles for both Paraguay and Missouri. :)

So the first pic is of the good ol’ snowboarding classic. Ham, cheese, and eggs on toast with sour cream and Chocobolic! Cathryn and I would always make this before going snowboarding. Since they don’t have sour cream here I put mustard on it and it was pretty good! Next me with a Mural of Judgment which someone painted on wall.. ha ha. Ok this was cool this week I found a little store called the 6th of January, the day Cathryn started her mission… coincidence i think not :)!! I’ll send another email with more pics.

I love you guys and I thank you for all your love support prayers dear elders and emails our family knows how to take care of missionaries ha ha We have the best family ever!!

I love you guys

Love Elder Morgan

This is a pic with the huge cake a family in the branch made for Marta’s baptism. which ended up not happening! Last night we had dinner with the Burgers and they always have very similar food to American food which is awesome! Paraguayan food is good but its hard to beat food from the States!
