She said YES! What a shocker, right?

On Wednesday night (Nov 23) I looked at John and said, "Whenever you propose to me, can it just be the two of us there? I don't really want anyone else around" His reply was "Oh of course hun, thanks for telling me that"(That was a lie but I guess he was getting me back! I lied to him about being at home, when I was in Utah to surprise him)

I thought it would be cute if he proposed on Thanksgiving day, but I didn't think he would because he told me he wanted to buy rings on black friday! (We like good deals!)
Thanksgiving morning John said he wanted to go on a drive. We first went to Gramps & Gramma Peggy's house. We visited for a little while and then right after John's dad called, we left.

On our way up to Prineville Reservoir (Where we met 4 1/2 years ago) his trucks temperture shot up to hot and the check engine light came on. John hadn't driven his truck in two years so he called his dad and asked him when the last time an oil change was done. His dad suggested we go to town and buy some oil to just pour in for now.

Eventually we were back on the road and everything was fine. Meanwhile I was going back and forth in my head...."he's going to propose...no he's tricking me"  When we got out of the truck, I saw John grab something I thought it was maybe his camera. We walked down to the dock and stood together for a few minutes enjoying the beautiful morning.

Then John said, "Hey so this is where we met and I asked you to get on my boat 4 1/2 years ago huh?" "uh huh" "Well Cathryn I want to ask you another question today"
He then got down on one knee and asked the question I've been wanting to hear for so so long. "Cathryn will you marry me?" and my response that he's been waiting so so long to hear, "Yes! Of course! Yes"
Remember how I said I saw him grab most likely his camera..it wasn't his camera but his little usb voice recorder! He got the entire proposal recorded!

Luckily when we were on the dock I forgot I needed to go to the bathroom but right afterwards, I was like "Ok! We need to find a bathroom now!!" ...That would have been quite the romantic story if I had wet my pants...

Afterwards we went back to John's parents and Laurie got out her camera and had us tell the story. Then John's Dad John came into the kitchen and asked what was going on. I was like, "What! You don't know? John asked me to marry him!" Then my John comes over with his Dad's camera and there is picture after picture of the entire proposal! The Morgan's all laughed and I was so happy my John didn't listen to me and had his Dad take pictures because they are going to be meaningful to us forever.

His Dad called Gramma Peggy's house because that was the sign he was up at the lake in position and he couldn't come help when the trucks engine light came on because he would be coming from the lake and I would know what was going on!

We are so thankful for our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ.  They guide our lives and certainly brought us together in the summer of 2007. We are being married in the Portland, Oregon temple December 29, 2011!

The waiting was worth it... but we are HAPPY it's over!! :)

  7. So are you guys going to post some wedding pictures or what? I'm dying to see them! I know I was there, but it's all kind of a blur and I'm excited to see what your photographer did at the temple.
