Last week I went to Boston with Jaime! I met her at the Salt Lake City airport on the 7th and we got to Boston late that night. We stayed our first night at a nice hotel called, 'The Godfrey". We both agreed their beds were like sleeping on clouds.
On Tuesday we walked down to a cafe for breakfast and then started on, "The Freedom Trail". Jaime read along in a book about each site. We also stopped by the library which was amazing...NOT your typical library!! By the end of the day we had walked 16,000 steps/climbed 10 floors/walked 7 miles. Our feet were TIRED from being on them all day, but it was fascinating to see all the history and architecture.
We picked up our rental car and had fun laughing about it's "turbo abilities" and that it was BRIGHT red. Not hard to find!
We checked into our Airbnb that night, and met the owners. The lady showed us around and then told us her husband had made us cake and we could go have a drink with them. When we got to the kitchen I mentioned that Jaime and I don't drink alcohol and her husbands response was hilarious. His facial expression was a look of suspicion. He was a big tease and such a gentleman all week. We didn't see his wife because she was up and gone to work before we came downstairs and he worked from home. Every morning he would have tea, toast, and berries ready for us.
Their Husky would always lay at the bottom of the stairs and she didn't bark ONCE the entire week. Guess I am use to Waffles who barks too much.
Wednesday we headed up North and stopped by Walden Pond for the writer, Henry David Thoreau lived in a cabin. We went through New Hampshire and then we stopped in Kennebunk Maine for lunch, a well known ice cream parlor, the cute little shops.

On Thursday we went South to Newport Rhode Island to tour the Vanderbilt Mansions. First we toured "The Breakers" and then we quickly went through "Marble House". The photos speak for themselves.
