Home in Central Oregon

One of our dreams as a couple was to move back to Central Oregon. We have always felt that it was truly home for us and the small towns and a quiet slow pace country life is exactly what we need and enjoy.
After I graduated from BYU-Idaho and John was looking for an internship, we never thought we would end up living in Utah for a couple of years, but the opportunity was too good to resist. We enjoyed our time around some of my family (Shippens, and Steven + family, Kaitlin + family), but we don't miss the traffic, crowded neighborhoods, or culture.
We are so fortunate to have had the opportunity to move back while John remains an employed with Domo, just remotely. I cannot express my gratitude enough to John's boss Matt for making it possible. I also am so grateful for John's work ethic and devotion to Domo that makes him a dependable and outstanding engineer.
It's actually still unreal to me that we live here and when I say goodbye to my parents, or in laws, that it's not a goodbye for months!!
We went ahead and purchased a home in Prineville on two acres, it's just a mile down from Gramps and Grandma Peggy. The builder (Gabe) will be our neighbor and he use to work for my father in-law. We were able to choose the counter tops, kitchen sink, appliances, carpet, frame the master bedroom mirrors, and choose backsplashes.
Colby loves pre-school and attends Monday through Friday for three hours. His teacher is fluent in Spanish, so I am encouraging John to also work with him to learn Spanish.
John has an office in Grandma Peggy's Real Estate building which is so nice of her to provide and I am enjoying my time one on one with Maelee while Colby is at school.
I am first counselor in the Primary, still holding fitness groups online, and really working on making personal and family changes to help us be a happier and healthier family.
