Colby

Colby has learned A LOT since he turned two back in January. He says things every day that I didn't know he knew! He learned his colors back in March and hasn't forgotten them. He is learning his shapes and knows some letters (especially C) and is learning to sing the alphabet.

He is a really sweet boy, but also a typical two year old who knows what he wants. Lately we have had to bribe him to go to nursery...he isn't adjusting very well. I potty trained him back in December, but he was still having trouble holding his potty in when we he was in his carseat (better than poop right?? He got poop down from the very beginning). After we got settled into our new home in May, Colby was ready to be fully trained and even stays dry the majority of nights and naps. However, to play it safe we still put a diaper on him for sleeping.

Lately he has been going through phases where he will respond with different words. One week every response was, "oh sure!". The next it was, "yep!" and this last week it was been, "yes.". The "yes" cracks us up because he sounds so proper!

His favorite things are...

  • construction equipment (he knows all the names)
  • firetrucks
  • jumping on the trampoline
  • digging in the dirt with his shovel from Grandma Laurie
  • singing "Patty Cake", "Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam", "Wheels-on-the-bus", "Once There Was a Snowman"

His favorite food is...(he is so good at eating just about anything, he's awesome!)

  • cheese
  • cucumbers
  • apple juice and gatorade
  • honey butter
  • waffles
  • yogurt

I am confident he will love his new baby sister because he is so sweet to Sawyer Morris and tells me he wants Maelee here. He will come up to me and say, "Hi Maelee" and kiss my belly. I know he may get jealous, but I'm optimistic that overall he will be a great big brother soon!

We love you Colbs...during your happy moments, grumpy moments, or sad moments. No matter what.
